I would like to use the picture of the crown http://loramel.net/blender_minutes/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/imperial_crown_a.jpg as my profile picture if that’s ok. On the same page in the about section, I will give you credit there. But it doesn’t allow me to post links directly. Therefore, would it be ok if I wrote the link there but instead of full stops, used dashes and then a little note below it telling the viewer to replace the dashes with dots, if he wants to visit the link?

I’m doing a personal project of photomanipulation, is a portrait of a cat that I would like to give a majestic appearance, you can see a picture of the project here . I would be interested in use the image of your imperial crown to place it over the cat’s head, it would be possible? It’s a project that I would like to use in my portfolio but is not intended for commercial, only as a demonstration of my skills with the retouch.

Thanks for the interest in my crown.
As long as you fulfill all the requisites for the license you are free to go. As stated in the original post, the crown is licensed under a CC-BY-NC-SA license
So the points to observe are:
– attribution has to be made to me in name and link to my website
– the derived work must not be used commercially
– the derived work must again be licensed under a CC-BY-NC-SA license.
So as long as all of these points are fulfilled there is no problem in you using the crown. If you cannot implement all of these points then you may not use the crown.

No you can’t.
I state ‘…Except where otherwise noted,’, and if you have a close look at the end plate in the film, you see the movie is licensed under a CC-BY-NC-ND license. There is the NonCommerial clause in it which would prohibit his.
I hope this clears this up.
